| Elijah Boardman (1789)
Copyright Held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art While this portrait is a bit early, I wanted to include it because I think it makes wigs and stockings sexy for men. Elijah looks like a heartbreaker. It is also famous for showing his fabric shop, a rare look at the businessman at work. His wife and oldest son were painted in 1796. |
